Long After the Battle

80 years of the Royal Armoured Corps

Long After the Battle commemorates the 80th anniversary of the Royal Armoured Corps, using the stories of five soldiers who saw action from the D-Day landings in June 1944 until the end of the war.

Their experiences are told through video interviews, showed alongside four tanks used by the RAC during the Second World War: a Matilda I, the newly restored Matilda II, a Churchill, and a Sherman tank.

Opened on 4th April 2019 for approximately eighteen months, Long After the Battle is a preview exhibition for the Second World War Hall redevelopment
